River-reclaimed cypress is sometimes also called river-recovered cypress, sinker cypress, deadhead cypress, old-growth cypress, and virgin cypress. It is recovered from the waterways of the American Southeast. Much of it dating back 400-to-500 years, river-reclaimed cypress represents the heaviest, best, oiliest cypress logs, which sank to the bottom while being floated to market. For simple beauty and outdoor weather resistance, it's tough to beat river-reclaimed cypress.
