Each piece is hand-crafted using either mahogany or river-reclaimed cypress. All pieces are assembled using weather-proof adhesives, all-weather screws, and plug-sealed screw holes. We think you'll agree our finish sanding is truly extraordinary. You can order the Loveseat with a tung-oil finish. However, the woods we use are naturally weather-resistant. Unfinished mahogany ages to a silvery-grey (see photo with dog), while cypress may also become silver over a longer span of time.

River-reclaimed cypress is sometimes also called river-recovered cypress, sinker cypress, deadhead cypress, old-growth cypress, and virgin cypress. It is recovered from the waterways of the American Southeast. Much of it dating back 400-to-500 years, river-reclaimed cypress represents the heaviest, best, oiliest cypress logs, which sank to the bottom while being floated to market. For simple beauty and outdoor weather resistance, it's tough to beat river-reclaimed cypress.
